Carmelite Community
The Carmelite Friars are devoted to prayer and ministry and are called "active contemplatives."
This means that while we are called to prayer, we also seek to share God's Word
with others.
We value common prayer and faith in community with our brothers in Christ. We strive
to live constantly in the presence of God and consider the celebration of the Eucharist
the center of our Community life.
Carmelite spirituality finds its example in Mary, the Mother of God. We look to
her faith and obedience to guide us in our daily lives. Like her, we seek to move
toward a more intimate relationship with God. We pray to Mary for guidance and her
motherly protection, as well as desire to be like her in her commitment to Christ
and to others.
